On November 7th, “Breaking the Silence” came to life at a local level through an open event designed to bring people closer to the world of deaf and hard-of-hearing communication. The event was open to everyone, creating a relaxed and interactive space where learning and connection went hand in hand.
Throughout the day, participants took part in hands-on workshop on sign language, exploring basic communication techniques and discovering how simple gestures can open the door to meaningful interaction.
Through games, group activities, and informal discussions, everyone had the chance to engage, ask questions, and better understand the everyday challenges faced by deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.

The atmosphere was vibrant and inclusive, with small group sessions encouraging collaboration and exchange of ideas. Participants also worked together on creative exercises, reflecting on communication barriers and how they can be reduced in daily life, youth work, and social environments.
More than just an informational event, the activity created a shared experience—bringing together people, perspectives, and voices in a way that highlighted the importance of empathy, accessibility, and inclusion.

Events like this are a key part of the “Breaking the Silence” project, helping turn knowledge into action and awareness into real social change.
